Thomas Walz

R+D, Consulting and Training Manager

Tom became an Arborist when he realized he could climb trees for a living.

His favorite experience as an Arborist was travelling and working abroad because it broadened his view as an Arborist.  Applying his skills and experience every day is what motivates him.  His favorite experience changes all the time, because he has plenty of favorites.

Tom’s favorite tree is the Pohutukawa tree (Metrosideros excelsa) because he has fond memories of playing around in these trees which overhang much of the north island coastline of New Zealand.  Locally, the Douglas-fir tops them all.
